The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PUSV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reiterated the position of national defense of the Esequibo territory.

During the usual press conference, the red awning said that “our position on the issue of Guyana is the historic one. That's not going to change at all,” while highlighting the character of President Delcy Rodríguez, in defending Venezuela's rights over this territory, “she has the right pulse.”

Cabello reiterated that the national intention is to keep the peace, however, he indicated that “we are not going to give up on our rights, enshrined rights. There's no way we can give up our rights.”

Venezuela has on countless occasions defended its rights to the disputed territory, assuring that the only valid document to resolve the dispute is the Geneva Agreement of 1966.
