The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, emphasized that military youth, who participated in the February 4, 1992 rebellion, took up with great courage their historic role.

“I don't know if commitment, awareness, detachment, audacity, yes, you have to be very bold to do something like that, but I think that what was most clear there was the historical role we had to play; the historical role was like that,” said Cabello, recalling that one of the things they planned when they were imprisoned was to escape on November 27 and take over the Palace.

In that sense, during his participation in the podcast Chavistamente, he highlighted that all this military uprising “has its roots in the fact that the People rose up on February 27 and 28, 1989 and we did what we did on February 4. Mistakes? Of course it's okay, of course if we are human, to regret mistakes, I think not really, I think not because it's a way of learning as long as those mistakes don't harm a third party and to those of us who cause harm, you apologize”.

In addition, he recalled that the first to apologize was always Commander Hugo Chávez. At the same time, he jokingly mentioned that all of them were boys and the only sane one was the Leader of the Revolution, referring to everything they did to try to communicate, such as putting together a telephone at all risks.

He also highlighted the great strength of him and many of his colleagues, in the face of the work of demoralization they insisted on applying to them trying to infiltrate people and blackmail them with their families.

“I remember that a guy, Daniels, arrived at the San Carlos Barracks and we were meeting with the officers (...) He comes to give us a harangue, to scold us then, and suddenly the guy is talking and Ronald Blanco raises his hand and says: 'Look you don't realize that this is a rebellion, that we are rising up against you, get out of here, we don't want to hear it, we are rising up'. And we applaud Ronald and suddenly Márquez Gerardo jumps over there and the guys were so paralyzed (...) and he recites the poem by Catire to him (...) And when it goes pure candle they left and left us alone, not gafos, they didn't leave, but we ran them all at once, he said.
