“This law is not going to be a dead letter and will generate new laws,” emphasized the president of the Permanent Committee on Internal Policy of the National Assembly (AN), Deputy Diosdado Cabell, during the presentation of the draft Organic Law for the Defense of Guiana Esequiba to students, professors and staff of the Military Academy of the Bolivarian Army.

From the Military Academy Theater, the parliamentarian highlighted that among the new laws that will be derived from this legal instrument in consultation with Venezuelan society before its second discussion in the AN, is the Law for the creation of national parks and the protection of zones.

In addition, other legal instruments are envisaged aimed at strengthening the political, economic and judicial sovereignty of Venezuela over this territory, which it denounced is intended to be taken by the Government of the United States and Exxon Mobil using the puppet Government of Guyana for this purpose.

He highlighted the importance of the massive participation of the People in the last consultative referendum of December 3 to demonstrate that Venezuelans are willing to defend their rights over Guiana Essequiba “at any cost”.

“We send a strong message to the entire world about the willingness of our people to defend Guiana Essequiba at any cost,” he said, while not hesitating to point out that, had there been a low turnout, “the International Court of Justice would not have waited until next year to issue a ruling in favor of Guyana and its attempted robbery.”

“But our people came out and proved that we are not going to let ourselves be robbed for anything or anyone, whatever their name is,” he said.
