The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, referred to the return to the country of the opposition leader María Corina Machado invited to leave the media show: “Since when have we been saying that whoever wants to come, let him come? There is no persecution for anyone here.”

“Let them leave the show and take revenge, everyone who wants to come, and that they take responsibility for what they said and what they did, on the street, and that they do politics,” said Cabello Rondón, during the usual press conference of the national leadership of the PSUV.

To illustrate the party's position in the face of the tensions and expectations generated surrounding the arrival of María Corina Machado, Cabello Rondón turned to the historical legacy, citing a letter from the Liberator Simon Bolivar addressed to the Grand Marshal of Ayacucho, Antonio José de Sucre, in the year 1823: “It doesn't scare me. We're used to seeing more horrible ghosts up close, which have disappeared when we got close to them.”

He also indicated that the internal affairs of the opposition are the responsibility of their own leadership and wished them resolution in their internal dynamics: “There they have their problem, who have quite a few problems and now they have one more; you will see how they solve it among themselves. We wish them the best of luck.”
