Cabello: Now we are going to the phase for the definition of definitive candidates

This Sunday, March 16, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, said that now, after the application process, a second phase is underway to elect the final candidates of the Red Tent and the Great Patriotic Pole (GPP) for the elections of May 25.

“What corresponds now? Good selection of each of the candidates who go to these positions with their alternates, those who are alternates,” he said during a PSUV press conference.

In this regard, he specified that this process will take place before the schedule set by the National Electoral Council (CNE), which establishes that the nomination of candidates will be between March 31 and April 4, with the objective that when the proposal is submitted it will be accompanied by the candidate and the government plan.

He noted that this selection process will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Regulations on each of the sources, which allows for several criteria for decision-making. In turn, he pointed out that in it “sectarianism or groupalism cannot prevail, but the interests of the Revolution must prevail.

For this reason, he reaffirmed the importance that all revolutionary forces must be respected and supported by those who are selected as candidates of the Revolution.

He reaffirmed that the candidates of the PSUV and the GPP will be presented in a unitary manner. “That is a great strength, unity and that is known to the enemies of the country, those inside and outside, because they have not been able to pierce the strength of the unity of the GPP and the PSUV,” he said.
