The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, called for combating the creation of escort groups and security caravans for public officials and private entrepreneurs, given the risk that this type of practice would become the germ of a type of paramilitarism in the country.

You walk safely because we are targets or targets to be attacked, but if that were not the case, I would gladly continue to drive my car the same way and that way we don't like those who want to harm the Revolution, hurting us to harm the Revolution, but that is a horrible scabbard, who believes that because he is with an escort he is more than the others, so I warn them that whoever gets me in the street I will send him to stop to check their documentation and the carrying of weapons,” said Cabello, during the Con El Mazo Dando program.

He reiterated that the national government will combat the caravans of escorts who commit abuses against people, taking into account that crime rates in Venezuela are practically zero. He also criticized those who, when appointed as vice-ministers, the first thing they do is hire three escort trucks.

“The Venezuelan State has a monopoly on weapons and it must be exercised because, otherwise, paramilitary organizations are going to be formed from security groups by businessmen or ranchers who hire armed men and we are not going to allow that,” he said.
