The Minister of People's Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, asserted that the war against police officers is against extortion because they have become used to it.

“We go for those who harm the institution. We discover an official, we train him before the subordinates, the newest one takes away all his badges, credentials and then the unit that is formed turns around (turns its back on him) and comes out to assume his shame, if he has one, before the courts, it's not like we send him home,” Cabello Rondón explained during the program Sin Truco Ni Maña.

He emphasized that this has to serve as a lesson, because no one enters a forced police force. “There is a code of honor, of behavior, a uniform, a People, an institution to which loyalty is owed, a value that they must not only have, but also promote and cultivate,” he said.

“There are policemen who are holy, upright, dedicated; who are policemen the father, the grandfather, the nephew, it's a noble, pure family of cops, and there is rotten fruit wanting to damage it and harm the institution,” he said.

I also said that the people need to feel safe and say my police arrived, “don't be afraid that they're going to hammer him or that they're going to plant drugs on his son, because we've had those cases,” he said.

“Right now there are cameras everywhere and after the complaint, we investigate and get to those responsible,” he said.
