“It's not the National Electoral Council (CNE) that agrees to assign candidates, it's the parties,” said the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, during the press conference of the National Directorate this Monday in Miranda state.

Cabello stressed that within the opposition the fights continue, because “you listen to them if they will participate or not, we don't know what can happen,” he said, adding that they have even set conditions to participate in the elections.

“In the opposition there is no unity, there are small islands, there is no relationship, there is no communication between them... Since April 2, no one writes on social media: “What are they up to?” , he stressed.

Cabello, replied to Aníbal Sánchez, about the applications and the CNE, that “if you want to talk about candidates, I'm sure you're not running. We can't apply for you because we have a query made, measurements, we're not sectarian but that's the way it is”.

“Let's go straight to this week's nominations, Holy Week and then the campaign that we all need to do for the big event... April 27 is the popular consultation for the projects of the commune and ready for the elections of May 25 with a great Popular Victory of the Revolutionary Forces,” he added.
