This Wednesday, December 4th, the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, highlighted that it was President Nicolás Maduro who “clutched with the People” to face the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The vaccines were smuggled here, because if it were for the United States, not a single vaccine would have come in here (...) when I say smuggling, these are the routes that were used so that the United States would not seize them anywhere,” said Cabello, also noting that it was thanks to Russia, China and Cuba that they extended their hand of solidarity to Venezuela and sent the vaccines to serve the people.

In this regard, during his Con El Mazo Dando No. 506 program, he recalled that while President Maduro was looking for ways to protect the people, sectors of the extreme right were asking for more sanctions against imperialism so that they would block Venezuela's accounts so as not to buy medicines or food to face the pandemic.

In addition, he referred to the media campaign that also bet that the country “would be the global chaos of Covid-19,” but “at the end of this whole story, Venezuela is among the three best countries that managed the pandemic in the world,” he added.

He reaffirmed that in Venezuela all Venezuelans were vaccinated without any political distinction. “But remember who brought the vaccines was Nicolás,” he said.
