Cabello: Imperialism promotes and directs fascism in the world

The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, said this Friday that today more than ever there is no doubt “that if something pushes fascism it is imperialism, behind fascism is imperialism.”

In this regard, during the World Congress of Anti-Fascist Youth, he specified that in Latin America and especially in Venezuela we have seen how fascism acts with the support and funding of imperialism.

“We've seen that movie. We here, in America, experienced the coup d'etat to put an end to progressive governments (...) Venezuela, Chile, Argentina and Paraguay experienced it, America experienced it and people shyly said 'the United States is behind', today no one says it is behind it, the whole world says today the US is at the forefront of the coup d'etat; there is no coup d'etat in the world that does not have the blessing of imperialism (...) Nowadays fascism appears in many places and people say the same way 'imperialism is behind', no imperialism is not behind, imperialism leads and promotes world fascism,” he said.

He pointed out that the Liberator Simon Bolivar was the only one who envisioned and drew what North American imperialism would become. “Today we could say that the United States is destined to plague the world with misery in the name of the freedom they proclaim,” he said.

He warned that we must be alert because fascism has “many ways of installing itself, mimicking itself, of adapting its presence and we only become aware when very regrettable things happen”, referring, for example, to the case of Israel, which today has become an arm of fascism in the world.
