This Wednesday, April 10, the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, highlighted the spirit and example of the teacher Hugo de los Reyes Chávez, father of Commander Hugo Chávez, who sadly died at 91 from a heart attack.
“Today, after 91 years, three months and three days, he could close that chapter of life with life, until yesterday working doing what he enjoyed, what he liked, what he had given his life to; he had said to Doña Elena: 'I if I'm going to campaign, I'm going to go to the street' (...) who could stop that spirit, just a fortuitous event, which surprised us all, but without a doubt it is an example for us,” said Cabello during the honors at Capilla Burning to the teacher Hugo de los Reyes Chávez in Barinas.
He also highlighted the simplicity and courage of the man who was Hugo de los Reyes Chávez. “His word was a document (...) this schoolteacher, (...) who trained Hugo Chávez with the deficiencies of the time, with the pains of the time, was able to form this family and one of the greatest things he can feel in his peace of mind is to have that family together, when he said Don Hugo spoke, Don Hugo spoke and people aligned themselves,” he said.
He also extended the fraternal greetings of President Nicolás Maduro to the entire Chávez Frías family. “A lot of strength to the family, a lot of family unity in these cases, a great family, thank you for giving this country a lot of strength, who despite the blows is there, who stopped to honor Don Hugo with his grandchildren, with the strength and character he has always had, thank you for that example,” he said.
At the same time, he invited the people to follow the example of master Hugo. “I only ask this people to follow the example of this man, let's follow the example because here they are going to keep talking about Don Hugo de Los Reyes, those who love them go and we're going to keep talking about him, the plain people in the street are going to talk about him because he never left his hand out to anyone, when there was a need there was that gentleman,” he stressed.
