The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of
Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, confirmed this Thursday that
governors and mayors who have not financed the communal projects chosen
in the Popular Consultation of last February 2, will not be able to run to participate in the elections of next May 25.
During the press conference of the red awning, ahead of the nomination
meetings of candidates and candidates, which will be held throughout
the country this weekend for the upcoming
regional and legislative elections, Cabello stressed that “someone can nominate them,
propose them, but when we review the task of the projects, then we
will find ourselves with a high rod because, those who have not understood that the issue is with the People”.
Recently, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of
Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, warned governors and mayors not to reduce
resources for the execution of communal projects that cannot be candidates.
During the 73rd edition of his Con Maduro+ program, the
president proposed, in the regulations for electing candidates, that these
officials “be excluded at the root, they cannot be a candidate or janitor in their
building,” he said.
