This Monday, the first vice-president
of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV),
Diosdado Cabello Rondón, emphasized that on February 4, 1992, the soldiers who rose up came out with the only thing they had of value, which was their lives.
“We didn't send anyone,
we left as a friend of mine said: 'From a present body to put the only thing we had of
value, which was our own life', we didn't remove anyone's body, we
never said I wasn't, on the contrary, we claimed February 4th,” said Cabello
, noting that Commander Hugo Chávez, as well as the soldiers
who came out with him, always assumed their responsibility.
In that sense, from the Mountain Barracks at the commemorative events for the 33rd
anniversary
of the Civic-Military Rebellion, he recalled how, while in detention, they, with their spirits up, made it clear that they were up against the government of the Fourth Republic and imperialism.
“We were convinced, we were convinced and the first few years were celebrated there in detention (...) we made it aware,” he said, stressing the number of families and young people persecuted at that time.
