The Sectorial Vice President for Policy, Public Safety and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, highlighted the importance of regulating the use of cell phones by children, especially in classrooms.
“It's not prohibiting it, it's regulating it, in study centers you can't use it,” Cabello said during the radio program Sin Truco Ni Maña.
He stressed that his position on this issue does not have to do with curtailing freedom of communication, but rather with guaranteeing the cognitive health of children and adolescents in the development of learning.
“Tomorrow they will say: 'Diosdado Cabello, Communism, is going to take away the sacred freedom to communicate'; that's not the case,” he said.
For her part, the deputy to the National Assembly (AN), Tania Díaz, announced that a bill for the protection of children and adolescents in the use of social networks and virtual environments will soon be presented to the plenary session.
“We must do this law with teachers and the community, families, so that we use technology and it doesn't use us,” he added, while urging us to guide minors because the uncontrolled use of cell phones represents a negative burden, especially in those with attention deficit.
