The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, assured that Brazil's veto against the country for BRICS membership is a negative burden for the Government of the Amazon nation.

“I think that was not against Venezuela , because no one is going to stop Venezuela, that was a direct attack on the BRICS. Due to the nature of oil reserves alone, with the incorporation of Venezuela, it went from 40% and as much as 60% of the world's reserves would be in the hands of the BRICS,” emphasized Cabello.

He stressed that Venezuela's position is strengthened “and Brazil's position is weakened in the eyes of the world; they know this and it will be up to them to reckon with the consequences of that.”

He stressed that Venezuela will continue to advance due to the peace diplomacy promoted by President Nicolás Maduro.

“We will continue to move forward along the path of Bolivar: Anti-imperialist,” he said.
