Diosdado Cabello Rondón, during the broadcast of program 462 of Con el Mazo Dando, asserted that the last betrayal of the oligarchy and the parties of the right was consummated after January 23, 1958, when the leaders of those organizations agreed to leave out the needs of the people.

“They say January 23 commemorates the birth of democracy and one wonders, which democracy is that of the elites, that of the Punto Fijo Pact, which left more than 11,000 young people missing, of whom 3,000 of them have not yet appeared? Then you say (Marcos) Pérez Jiménez was a breastfed child compared to these perverse people,” he said.

The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) recalled that after the Punto Fijo Pact, the persecution and criminalization of dissent prevailed in the country, causing leaders such as Fabricio Ojeda to abandon their seat as a deputy and go to the guerrillas.
