The Brazilian Association of Jurists for Democracy (ABJD), reports that the United States is applying a law more than 200 years old to kidnap and deport immigrants in times of peace, without trial or legal defense.
This was stated by the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, on his social media accounts, referring to the statement made this Tuesday, March 25, by the Brazilian Association of Jurists for Democracy (ABJD).
The foreign minister points out that in the face of the kidnapping of 238 Venezuelans who have been illegally transferred to prisons in El Salvador under false accusations, in a secret agreement between the United States and the Bukele government, the ABJD highlights that: “It is an attack on the sovereignty of Latin America and the Caribbean with actions that violate international treaties and the most basic principles of human rights.”
“We demand an immediate end to these neo-fascist policies and the release of kidnapped migrants!” , he emphasized.
