Brazil reported 36 deaths from a dengue outbreak

This Monday, the Brazilian Ministry of Health reported that at least 36 people have lost their lives from dengue fever and 345,235 probable cases.
In this regard, he added that 234 deaths
are under investigation and that the incidence of this disease, transmitted
by the “Aedes Aegypti” mosquito, is 170 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
According to a report
released at the end of January by the Ministry of Health, the number of cases of
dengue fever expected in Brazil this year may be between 1,462,310 and
4,225,885, due to factors such as the combination of excessive heat and
torrential rains (possible effects of El Niño) and the recent re-emergence of serotypes 3 and 4 of the dengue virus in the
South American country.
The states of Minas Gerais, Acre, Goiás
and the Federal District, as well as the municipality of Rio de Janeiro (the second most
populated in Brazil) have declared a state of emergency due to cases of
dengue fever in their regions.
