From 5:00am this Friday, January 10 and until Monday, January 13, the border crossing between Colombia and Venezuela through Paraguachón, in the Guajira municipality of the state of Zulia, is closed and guarded by military personnel.

Early this Friday morning, according to information from the Integral Defense Operational Zone (ZODI) No. 11 Zulia, members of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), closed the border in the Caribbean section that connects the town of Paraguachón, in the north of the Zulian region, with Maicao.

The measure, taken on instructions from the President of the Republic Nicolás Maduro, is due to allegations of an international conspiracy against the Bolivarian Government.

A similar measure was taken at the border crossing through the state of Táchira, announced by the governor of that entity, Freddy Bernal, who called for the understanding of the population that normally circulates between Colombia and Venezuela.
