On the occasion of the Bicentennial of the Battle of Ayacucho, in the spaces of the National Art Gallery (GAN), the Minister of Popular Power for Culture (MPPC), Ernesto Villegas, named the book “Junín and Ayacucho. Sepulchres of the Spanish Empire in America”, literary work written by General Frank Zurita and Doctor Francisco Zurita.

“My dad and I have had the honor of doing this one already, they are three books for the collection of the Ministry of Popular Power for Defense, we did “Carabobo, Roads to Glory”, when the bicentenary of the Battle of Carabobo was celebrated, in addition to “La Fortaleza 1823. Puerto Cabello final round”, on the 200th anniversary of Puerto Cabello, and now we are presenting “Junín and Ayacucho. Sepulchres of the Spanish Empire in America,” said co-author Frank Zurita.

In this regard, Zurita explained that the purpose of the book is to provide an easy-to-digest bibliographic material, written with a pedagogical direction so that readers have the opportunity to know and understand clearly the details of the campaign that surrounded the Battle of Ayacucho.

For his part, Villegas reported that he will do the same to formalize an alliance between the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture and the Ministry of Popular Power for Defense to expand the dissemination of “Junín and Ayacucho”. In addition, he undertook to include this book in the photographic exhibition Orinoco Cubagua Ayacucho 1824-2024, Crossroads and Our American Metaphors, by Venezuelan photographer Rodrigo Benavides, recently premiered at the GAN.
