Bolivia and China reach record numbers in their trade relations

The Bolivian Institute of Foreign Trade (IBCE) reported
a significant increase in trade between the
Plurinational State of Bolivia and the People's Republic of China in recent years,
especially in the last months of 2023, when the highest
volume of trade between the two countries was recorded by 3.6 billion dollars.
According to official figures from the National Institute
of Statistics (INE) of Bolivia, the IBCE highlighted that the main products
exported by the Andean country were meat and minerals, such as silver,
zinc, lead, tin, copper, antimony and concentrates.
“In 2023, Bolivian exports to China
were concentrated in minerals, mainly silver and zinc; among the
non-traditional products, beef and wood stand out,” details the specialized report.
One of the products that experienced high growth was
meat, due to the opening of the Chinese market from 2019 to 2024,
which has allowed Bolivian producers to access a
large market with high demand. In total, 59 products
including sawn wood were exported to China.
