The Bolivarian Government announced that they will set up three shelters in the northern area of the state of Anzoátegui, with the objective of caring for families affected in the central region of the country as a result of the two earthquakes recorded on June 24.

The head of the Social Cabinet of the regional executive, Daniel Atay, indicated that among the spaces are the Mission Bases and Vertical Gyms in the cities of Barcelona and Puerto La Cruz, which have a capacity for 300 people each. He also mentioned that they will have the Venezuela stadium, which offers a capacity for 100 victims, local press reports.

Atay said that they are making progress in adapting these facilities to ensure the comfort of the people who require them. The first phase of operation in the Transitional Camps includes the installation of a triage area and the creation of a database to protect the identity of the affected people.
