The Minister of Popular Power for Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, announced the temporary suspension of flights to the states of Nueva Esparta and Sucr, due to the passage of Hurricane Beryl through Venezuelan territory.

Through his account on the social network X, he noted that the preventive measure seeks to guarantee operational safety and protect the well-being of the population in areas that may be affected.

He noted that the measure also includes the restriction of the departure of vessels in these coastal entities.

The authorities have been closely monitoring the hurricane's trajectory, so they took this action in coordination with security and civil protection agencies.

The president of the National Meteorological Institute (INAMEH), Reidy Zambrano, assured that tropical wave number 16, which became Hurricane Beryl category four, will not affect Venezuelan territory as much, however, he urged citizens to follow the safety recommendations issued by the authorities.

He explained that according to the constant monitoring carried out by the National Risk Management System (SNGR), the aforementioned natural phenomenon, which is currently located approximately 210 kilometers from the northeast of the state of Sucre, will only cause cloud cover and possible rains in the northern coastal area of the national geography.

He added that rainfall will be recorded during the afternoon of this Monday and throughout this Tuesday, July 02.
