The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro , stressed that the Bolivarian Government, with all the relevant measures, received through the Plan Back to the Homeland the compatriots deported from the United States.
The nationals arrived in the country by flight of the Venezuelan Consortium of Aeronautical Industries and Air Services S.A. (CONVIASA), and upon arrival they received immediate medical attention and other assistance at Simon Bolivar International Airport.
One of the compatriots commented on the experience of being migrants and being deported to Guantánamo, without having committed any crime and which they described as a prison for terrorists.
Another stated that he had never been hungry and slept on the street as happened to him in the United States, and he said that because he had a tattoo on his chest, “they involved me in a gang and I was imprisoned and detained for some time.”
In addition, another of the compatriots, said that at the time “I made the bad decision to go to the United States, there they treated us like dogs, they gave us the way they wanted, they mistreated us, they beat us. There are no human rights there, they told us that human rights did not exist there”.
In this context, the head of state emphasized that Venezuela is the only country in the world that has “a plan to bring migrants with dignity, respect and love.”
Once in Venezuelan territory and complying with the initial protocol, the Security Forces bring compatriots to their homes.
