The Venezuelan Hydrology Agency (Hidroven) and the Mayor's Office of the Libertador municipality of the state of Mérida completed the repair of the La Fría aqueduct, which serves about 1,500 families in the La Vega and Tres Esquinas sectors.

The coordinated action between the national, regional and local governments managed to timely address the La Vega and Tres Esquinas sectors, where recent rains caused landslides, as well as damage to 100 linear meters of HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) pipe, Hidroven said in a press release.

The director of Public Services of the municipality, Ricardo Rojas, highlighted that crews from the city council and Hidroven were mobilized together, as part of a contingency plan launched by the administration of Mayor Nelson Álvarez.

Local reports on affected damages indicate that this weekend's rains caused partial and occasional damage in at least 15 sectors of the Libertador and Santos Marquina municipalities, events in response to which the Risk Management System protocols were activated, mobilizing Civil Protection (PC) and Firefighters, as well as entities linked to the infrastructure and services sectors.
