This Wednesday, the Hugo Chávez Ophthalmological Center was reinaugurated in Barquisimeto, Lara state, belonging to the Institute of Social Welfare and Welfare for the staff of the Ministry of Education (IPASME), after being rehabilitated and equipped with the latest technology equipment.
“These facilities will initially offer working hours, and then permanent care for the staff of the education sector -teachers, mothers cooks, administrators, workers- and their families, but also, and if the capacity is enough, it will serve the general population,” said the Minister of Popular Power for Education, Héctor Rodríguez, during a tour of the healthcare center.
He added that the potential of facilities known as the Hospital for Teachers could go beyond health and social care, so he proposed that they should also be used as a cultural center for teachers in Larense and Venezuela.
Rodríguez mentioned that this renovated ophthalmological center has 6 offices, a two-seater operating room and an area for special studies such as visual acuity, refraction, laser yag, biometry, ultrasound, and others.
