Bolivarian Government released 21,000 Arrau and Terecay turtles at Playa Cuba in Anzoátegui

This Friday, June 7, 21,000 Arrau and Terecay turtles were released in Playa Cuba on the banks of the Orinoco River, located in the state of Anzoátegui, an act led by the Minister of Popular Power for Ecosocialism, Josué Lorca.

“I give you these beautiful images, the activity we carried out today in Playa Cuba on the banks of the Orinoco River, a celebration of an act of hope with the release of 21,000 Arrau and Terecay turtles, two emblematic species of our Amazon ecosystem that are in danger of extinction,” Lorca reported on his Instagram account.

He indicated that “this event reminds us of the importance of conservation and the responsibility we have as a society to protect the biodiversity of our planet.”
