This Monday, December 30, the Bolivarian Government reinaugurated Plaza Darío Vivas on Fuerzas Armadas Avenue, in Caracas.
The reinauguration was led by the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, accompanied by the Head of Government of the Capital District, Nahun Fernández.
During the event, Meléndez highlighted the legacy of Dario Vivas, and said that the main one was to “keep us mobilized”.
“After the fascists, terrorists destroyed the statue of Darío, but today we are handing over this square completely transformed and rebuilt with the hands of the people,” he said.
He also invited all revolutionaries to be attentive and alert and to participate in all the mobilizations they are going to carry out in Caracas.
For his part, Fernández stated that the fascist right disseminate hate speech to generate violence, which is why they destroyed the statue of Dario Vivas and those of Commander Hugo Chávez.
“There is a great dispute to remove the people from power. That's why there's a lot of manipulation on social networks to try to bring the people to their knees,” he said.
He asked the entire Venezuelan people to remain united, active on the street, defending the legacy of Commander Chávez and to accompany his son, President Nicolás Maduro, on January 10.
