This Monday, the comprehensive rehabilitation of the National Educational Unit (UEN) Armando Castillo Plaza began, located in the Leoncio Martínez parish of the Sucre municipality, Miranda state, said the Minister of Education, Héctor Rodríguez.

During a supervisory tour of the work, Rodríguez stressed that the intervention responds to a direct request made by the school community. “This school is a proposal that parents and representatives sent us last week to incorporate into the rehabilitation plan and today we are starting the recovery, which we are carrying out together with the Ministry of Public Works,” he said.

The approach, according to a press release from the Health portfolio, includes the adaptation of infrastructure, including classrooms, kitchen areas, courts and laboratories, as well as waterproofing, painting, repair of electrical installations, equipment, and other works

Currently, the campus serves a population of 700 students and has a projected capacity to accommodate up to 1,200, so the works will expand the supply of places.

The minister specified that this intervention is part of a “sustained effort” that already reaches more than 1,500 schools addressed throughout the national territory, while thanking the commitment of teachers, workers and government bodies involved in improving the country's educational quality.

For her part, the director of the campus, Ana Vazquez, expressed her gratitude for the prompt response to the requirements of the educational community, expressing her favorable expectations in the face of advances in infrastructure and the consolidation of decent spaces for the training of Venezuelan youth.
