A strategic alliance with key representatives of the Venezuelan sugar sector was formalized this Friday by the ministers of Popular Power for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Julio León Heredia, and that of Industries and National Production and president of the International Center for Productive Investment (CIIP), Alex Saab.
This agreement, within the presidential guidelines, has as its primary objective to strengthen the production of agri-food items in the strategic western region of the country, with the purpose of consolidating food sovereignty.
This investment contributes to the process of reactivating installed capacity in national agro-industry plants. This effort aligns with the vision of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, to guarantee full agri-food supply with 100% domestic, sustainable and self-sustainable production.
The initiative also strengthens the Agrifood Engine, a fundamental pillar of the 13 Productive Engines that make up the Bolivarian Economic Agenda.
In this regard, the Bolivarian Government is moving steadily towards the replacement of imports in all productive sectors, to guarantee domestic production for export. This strategy seeks to strengthen the national economy and ensure the well-being of the Venezuelan people.
