The governor of the state of Falcón, Víctor Clark , oversaw the start of the recovery and comprehensive transformation of the José Leonardo Chirino de Coro airport. This is a group of actions aimed at reactivating the above-mentioned air terminal the same year.

The regional government indicated that as part of the first phase, the physical plant was intervened, while the total project contemplates the adaptation of the runway, the beacon system and all the technical specifications required by the competent bodies headed by the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC)

“The objective is to reactivate Coro Airport this year and thereby contribute to strengthening the region's air connection with national and international destinations, which will result in more dynamization of the economy, generation of direct and indirect jobs and a vital boost to everything related to the promotion of Falcón as a tourist attraction and a point for commercial and cultural exchange,” Governor Clark said in a press release.
