With the objective of converting the final disposal spaces for waste and solid waste into suitable places suitable for national and international environmental parameters, this Saturday, the governor of Mérida Jehyson Guzmán, together with the Deputy Minister of Integral Waste Management, Dennys Guedez, inspected the first phase of adaptation of the Onia landfill, in the Alberto Adriani municipality.

Thanks to the timely payment of users, it is now possible to carry out efficient work to minimize the negative impact on the environment, not only in Onia, but in the other two Lomas del Calvario and Mazpa landfills, which would make Mérida one of the leading states in the efficient and comprehensive management of waste and solid waste.

The regional president explained that they seek to convert landfills into spaces where recycling is promoted, with the efficient use of waste, as well as the specialized management of other waste such as hospital waste.

He stressed that the purpose is to give a long life, approximately 15 years, to these places where the different municipalities dispose of waste and waste from their municipalities
