Bolivarian Government inaugurated Bicentennial desalination plant in Juan Griego in Nueva Esparta

The Minister of the People's Power for Water Care, G/D Rodolfo Marco Torres, together with the sector vice-president of Public Works and Services, G/J Néstor Reverol, the Minister of Tourism, Ali Padrón and the deputy to the National Assembly, Giuseppe Alessandrello, inaugurated the Bicentennial desalination plant located in Juan Griego, Marcano municipality in the state of Nueva Esparta.

This silver will produce 300,000 liters of water per day to serve 6,000 inhabitants in the point and circle.

This new project is in addition to the water projects carried out by the Caribbean Hydrology Company (HYDROCARIBE), including the permanent maintenance of the submarine pipeline and the 30 million liter Porlamar I main tank to strengthen the water system in the entity, in compliance with the instructions of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros.

“10 new desalination plants are going to be rehabilitated, we have started the recovery of the El Espinal and La Asunción pumping stations that will benefit 9 municipalities, we have just inaugurated the Guayacán and Pedro González pumping stations in the Gómez municipality, the comprehensive maintenance plan for the Dos Cerritos treatment plant and the Los Algodones chlorination station, in addition to Punta Mosquito, which is already operational,” he explained the Minister of Water.

He also indicated that he met with the New Spartan mayors and mayors to evaluate the public service care plan through the 1×10 of Good Governance, in coordination between the four levels of government, with the objective of providing solutions to the People.

Finally, he specified that the two branches that supply water to Margarita Island from the Clavellino and Turimiquire reservoirs are active for 76 kilometers from the states of Sucre and Anzoátegui.
