Staff from the Ministry of People's Power for Health carry out a day of fumigation in more than 30 locations in Delta Amacuro to prevent the spread of dengue and malaria.

The information was provided by Alexander Rojas, inspector of Environmental Health in the entity, who explained that 20 communities are being treated with fumigation against dengue in the Tucupita municipality. This action is carried out following the prevention protocol, which begins when a case of dengue fever is detected and confirmed.

In the Casacoima municipality, efforts have been focused on malaria, as it is an endemic area for this pathology. In these sectors, preventive actions have been carried out in 10 communities, where all the localities affected by the detected cases of malaria have been added.

“This protocol is carried out in localities where the presence of the vector has been confirmed, because laboratory samples indicate this, because there is no point in fumigating in non-endemic areas, we would exhaust resources and forces,” he explained, quoted in a regional press release.
