This Friday, June 14, the Minister of Popular Power for Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, accompanied by government authorities, went to Troncal 3, where the bridge located over the Cocuiza River collapsed, specifically in the Ana María Campos parish of the Miranda municipality in the state of Zulia and the Mene de Mauroa parish in Falcón, an important route for connecting both states.

In this regard, in a note published by the Minister of People's Power for Transportation, on his website, he specified that the authorities explained that the Bolivarian Government, at its different levels, is addressing the situation to give it immediate attention in the coming days.

They also reported that due to the rollover of a vehicle that was traveling during the event, the death of one person and three injured were reported, who are being treated by regional authorities.

“President Nicolás Maduro immediately ordered an investigation into the possible causes of the accident and the immediate activation of technical equipment, as well as the mobilization of machinery to build the new bridge that will restore traffic,” said Velásquez Araguayán.

The minister said that an alternative road along the “La Williams” highway was established for users, in addition to the construction of a variant in the next 48 to 72 hours.

On the other hand, the president of the Corporation for the Development of the Zulian Region (CORPOZUILIA), Néstor Reverol, said that the national, regional and local governments are working in perfect union to resolve the situation as soon as possible.

He added that part of the new bridge that will be placed on the site is already being mobilized.
