The Minister of Popular Power for Science and Technology, Yván Gil, reported that in January he will begin a special diploma course with the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) at the School of Chocolatería del ALBA in the state of Aragua, with the purpose of training and certifying a new generation of cocoa teachers and chocolatiers.

“We have also visited the Faculty of Agronomy of the UCV; here is the headquarters of the National Institute for Scientific Research, designing a strategic plan for the state of Aragua, but beyond the state of Aragua, for the entire country from the state of Aragua, which has great contribution capacities,” Gil said during a tour of the entity.

The minister said that the world recognizes Aragonese cacao for the quality of crops such as Chuao, Cuyagua, Ocumare, Cepe, Bahía de Cata and Choroní. “The sector occupies a central place in the strategic plan for science and technology that we promote in this coastal state,” he said.

The Alba Chocolate School and FUNDACITE Aragua are leading the initiative, together with their workers, and have the support of Governor Joana Sánchez.
