The National Office against Organized Crime and Terrorism Financing (ONCDOFT) held a technical working table with representatives of specialized non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to unify criteria and establish secure channels of cooperation aimed at preventing and combating trafficking in persons.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Tinta Violeta Civil Association, the International Cooperation Organization (COOPI) and the Mulier Civil Association.

The participants in the working table analyzed the conclusions of the Global Report on Trafficking in Persons of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), corresponding to the Glotip 2024 edition.

In addition, they addressed issues such as the risk factors associated with mass migratory flows, the recurring profiles of victims, the most frequent routes and destinations of recruitment networks, and the impact of organized crime on this crime.

The authorities and NGO representatives agreed to strengthen prevention, training and comprehensive care programs, as well as to prioritize the protection of the health and safety of victims to guarantee them timely legal assistance.

As part of the agreements, they proposed institutionalizing quarterly work meetings and establishing a virtual monitoring mechanism; these spaces will allow the design, evaluation and execution of public policies aimed at reducing risk factors in the national territory.
