This Tuesday, June 25, after the heavy rains of the last few days, the bridge over the Michay River collapsed, temporarily leaving the states of Barinas and Táchira incommunicado.

This was reported by the Minister of Popular Power for Transportation, Ramón Celestino Velásquez Araguayán, through a publication in his X account.

“Motivated by the heavy rains in the states of Táchira and Barinas, the foothills of the Michay Bridge were affected, leaving both entities incommunicado,” said the Minister.

He also indicated that the equipment and machinery of the Ministry he heads are located in the place, to deal with the contingency, once the rainfall ceases.

The rains of the last few hours caused the river to rise, which ended up collapsing the ground next to the bases, the asphalt cracked and fell into the flow.
