The Minister of the People's Power for Water Care, Rodolfo Marco Torres, reported that it is now operational and receives water from the collection that is recovered in the Manzanares River, the San Lorenzo water treatment plant, in Cumanacoa, at the completion of an inspection to confirm its proper functioning.

Through his account on the social network X, Marco Torres announced that in the next few hours drinking water will be supplied to the central part of the town through this system.

“We managed to recover the old catchment to drive through the desander and the pipe, a significant flow of 60 to 80 liters per second. We are in the treatment process, all that is at the level of turbidity in this first phase,” he explained.

He also noted that as part of other actions, four wells were reactivated, the first in the La Granja sector, where new 30 HP engines and pumps were installed, while in the community of Barrio Blanco, corrective maintenance was carried out on another underground source with a production of 24 liters per second (LPS) of water.

He explained that to activate the San Salvador well, 15 meters of two-inch HDPE pipe were placed, while a fault was corrected in the La Rinconada well in the four-inch drive pipe, which generates 20 LPS.

He also noted that simultaneously, a drinking water distribution operation is being carried out through 28 tanker trucks deployed in the town, including two new supertanks.
