The Minister of Popular Power for Communication and Information, Miguel Ángel Pérez Pirela, shared a community day this Sunday with those affected by the recent seismic event at the Transitional Camp of the Pérez Bonalde School, located in the Sucre parish of Caracas.

“We started Christmas by making hallacas, cooking pork and hugging the few families that are still left in the Pérez Bonalde school camp in Catia that we have accompanied these months,” Pérez Pirela wrote on Telegram.

According to data released through his official channel on the Telegram platform, the senior official asserted that most of the affected population centers have already been successfully relocated as part of the Christmas festivities, adding verbatim: “Most families are already in their new homes and those that still remain are ready. Today, some families were moving to Hoyo de la Puerta and they told us about it with a look of happiness and hope.”

The ministerial representative pointed out the origin of the properties granted to the victims, explicitly detailing that “some of them go to homes built in these four months by the Venezuela Renace Plan and others were able to purchase housing in the secondary market, thanks to direct aid from the State.”

The head of the communication portfolio emphasized the recognition of the beneficiary communities towards the country's highest authorities, pointing out that “the gratitude is unanimous to President Delcy Rodríguez, who not only accompanied them throughout this difficult post-earthquake journey, but is also keeping her word that each of the families receive the end of the year in a single-family roof.”
