From the Piar municipality of Bolívar state, the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reiterated this Thursday the demand for the eighth star of the national tricolor, legacy of the Liberator Simon Bolivar.

“Today we are in Bolivar, in our Guiana, we claim the eighth star of this flag, the order of Father Bolivar. The right wing, you know, denies Bolivar, they deny Guiana, they deny the eighth star because it was the territory they had prepared to hand over to imperialism,” said Cabello during a massive mobilization in support of President Nicolás Maduro.

He recalled that Commander Hugo Chávez recognized the Liberator's thought and order. “Here is our flag of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela with the eighth star of our Guiana,” he said.

He stressed that the patarucos are “immoral” in asking for the people's vote while asking for sanctions and invasions and, in addition, they planned multiple attacks against the Homeland. “They don't even deserve the respect of the people of Venezuela,” he added.
