The governor of the state of Bolivar, Angel Marcano, assured that in the country we have a “people that have resisted the most ruthless blockade, siege and sabotage against the Bolivarian Revolution.”

At the close of a mobilization registered this Friday against the imperial blockade and in support of the head of state, Nicolás Maduro, the entity's first civil authority stressed that “the people of Ciudad Guayana and San Félix have stood firm with the Bolivarian Revolution and our president. Today, when the time comes for definitions and to establish a firm position against a colonial process that has trampled on peoples for more than 500 years, we do not doubt that we are on the right side of history, on the side of the Bolivarian Revolution.”

Marcano added that “if anyone knows imperialism and the colonization and privatization process, it's the Guianese because here they imposed a process of privatization on us that put us through hunger, misery and that ended education and health. Commander Hugo Chávez arrived and recovered all that and gave us the best standard of living we have had in the last 100 years.”

To conclude his words, he stressed that “the same last names that 200 years ago sided with the Spanish Empire today side with the gringos”.

“They were wrong once again; just as Bolivar threw them out of the country, today Venezuela will defeat them. Together with President Nicolás Maduro, we are sure of a new victory,” he said.
