THE DOCUMENTS AND PHOTOS THAT CONDEMN GENERAL PINOCHET
(25 years after the coup d'etat)
- This cover photo contains the**** the most pathetic proof of the Pinochet coup: A group of supporters of Salvador Allende awaits the sad ending before a firing squad.
- TOP SECRET DOCUMENT:
- Although the declassified documents are incomplete and full of blotches, they contain shocking revelations and photos that the Clinton administration has released to the public since September 1998.
- Regarding the murder of Orlando Letellier, a former Allende government official and his companion, the American Ronni Moffit, the FBI concluded that “it is inconceivable that the assassination of Letellier was decided without the express authorization of General Pinochet.”
- Richard Nixon, faced with the rise of the Chilean president, ordered the head of the CIA, Richard Helms: “Blow up Allende”, authorizing expenses of 10,000,000 U$D “and more if necessary.”
- Faced with the frontal position of General René Schneider, in defense of the electoral results and the constitutional order, the CIA chose to eliminate him.
- The graphics show the moment of the assault on the Presidential Palace of La Moneda and the piled corpses of Allende's supporters at the door.
- In relation to the Caravan of Death, it was demonstrated that an elite group of the Chilean Armed Forces, under orders of Pinochet, was responsible for the murder and disappearance of 97 political prisoners.
- When General Alberto Bachelet (Michelle's father) opposed the coup d'etat, he was arrested by his own comrades in arms and subjected to torture that led to his death.
- The secret report detailed that “many of these executions appear to have been quite criminal.”
CONTEXT:
- The declassification of these CIA files occurred at a time when the Chilean dictator traveled to England. The Spanish judge Baltazár Garzón invoked universal jurisdiction for crimes against humanity and issued ****an arrest warrant for the crimes of genocide, international terrorism, torture and forced disappearance of persons.
- He was therefore arrested in London, where he remained under house arrest from October 16, 1998 to March 2, 2000.
- During that time, he enjoyed the protection of former Prime Minister Margaret Tatcher, Elizabeth II and George W. Bush, who interceded for him to be admitted to a luxury clinic.
- These declassified documents are just the tip of the iceberg of those who sleep in the CIA archives.
