This Monday, a national strike began in Belgium to protest against government austerity measures that cause the paralysis in much of the country with the cancellation of flights at airports and public transport, schools and shops, reports the local press.

Brussels airport states that it does not plan to take off any flights from its facilities this Monday and that it can also cancel flights that land, so it asked passengers to contact their airline.

In addition, Charleroi airport, located south of the capital, announced that all flights scheduled to operate today have been canceled.

The newspaper Le Soir, quoted by Telesur, indicated that only half of the trains operate and one in three in local cases, with areas such as the province of Luxembourg and the south of Namur with completely stopped railway traffic.
