During the debate at the United Nations (UN), the Belarusian delegation, represented by Aleksei Panferov, severely questioned the application of unilateral coercive measures imposed against Cuba. The diplomat denounced that the economic blockade directly violates the right to life of the island's citizens, stating that no state greatness is sustained through cruelty or the suffering of innocent people.

The statement was released by the Telesur agency, highlighting the Eurasian country's strong support for the Caribbean nation in the face of sanctions imposed by Washington. In this context, the Belarusian representation emphasized that the lifting of financial and commercial restrictions is an ethical and international imperative to guarantee the stability of the Cuban people.

The Belarusian delegation also warned the multilateral forum that the management of this crisis represents a decisive test for the very future and the viability of the United Nations. In this regard, Panferov pointed out that if the agency's institutional response is limited to passing resolutions routinely without generating a real impact, the UN will be demonstrating its ineffectiveness by reducing its role to “empty words and a simulation of force”.

The diplomatic representation ratified its permanent solidarity with the island and reiterated the call to the international community to move from formal declarations to concrete actions to end the economic siege. The statements add to the broad stance of global rejection of the policy of sanctions against Havana.
