BCV and BDE strengthen technical cooperation ties in statistical matters

The Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) held a bilateral meeting with the Bank of Spain (BDE) within the framework of the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that were held in Bangkok, Thailand.

The purpose of the meeting was to define the scope of technical assistance that international organizations and central banks will provide to the country in statistical matters, which represents a concrete step in strengthening the issuing institute in this area.

During the session, both central banks reviewed the priority areas of cooperation, the applicable methodological standards, and the conditions for implementing the assistance.

For the BCV, the quality and timeliness of economic and financial statistics are a fundamental pillar of monetary policy and other initiatives to have robust and internationally comparable data, allowing for better decision-making.
