On March 23, 1956, the town of Cúa in the state of Miranda saw the birth of the renowned player Baudilio Díaz.

Díaz, an icon of Venezuelan baseball, played for 13 years in the major leagues and 14 seasons in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP), where he averaged .281 (1851-520), with 57 home runs and 290 RBIs.

In his first season in Venezuela (1972-73) he played in 17 games and averaged 300.

In one of those games, Díaz was fortunate to be behind the plate to welcome Urbano Lugo, the first Venezuelan pitcher to throw a no-hit no run in the history of the LVBP.

Mirandino was present in six Final Series with the Caracas Lions, of which he won the champion's cup five times: 1977-1978, 1979-1980, 1980-1981, 1981-1982 and 1986-1987. In 2006, he was inducted into the Venezuelan Baseball Hall of Fame.
