This Saturday, June 29, from Barcelona, Anzoátegui state, President Nicolás Maduro told the opposition candidate José Brito to go and debate with the people.

“There is a pataruco out there by the name of José Brito who spends his time attacking and challenging me. He says that since he is from El Tigre, from Anzoátegui, he wins in this state ( ... ),” said Maduro.

He also recalled that on several occasions Brito has said that he wants to debate with him. “Sir, you can't stand a slap on me,” he said.

During his speech, he said that he is driven by love “for this people who have resisted all the adversities resulting from the economic war”.

“We have stood up to the North American empire, they thought we were going to surrender with their sanctions and blockades, but I carry in my hand the wave of David, the wave of the People, with the blessings of God, they have not been able to, nor can Venezuela go ahead,” said the Head of State.

Maduro added that although “we have had a hard time, we are and are going to move forward, with work and unity.”
