BAER decontaminates Nueva Esparta airport runway

In order to ensure safe, orderly and efficient operations, Bolivariana de Aeropuerto (BAER) carried out pneumatic decontamination on the main runway of GJ International Airport. Santiago Mariño de Nueva Esparta.

It should be noted that these works aim at removing the rubber film, a common residue of tire wear, which accumulates over a period of time, causing porosity to disappear and alter the grip, which an aircraft must maintain, at the time of takeoff or landing.

In a press release from the instance, it became known that, in accordance with the regulations of the Venezuelan Aeronautical Regulation: RAV No. 14 (Airfield Design), RAV No. 114 (Airfield Maintenance) and RAV No. 5 (SMS Operational Safety Management System), applied a level of cleaning adjusted to the required protocols.
