The board of directors of Caracas
Football Club officially announced Henry Meléndez as the new coach
of the first team, for the remainder of the 2024 season of the Venezuelan Football League (
FUTVE League).
Henry
Meléndez's coaching staff will be made up of Gabriel Amigo (technical assistant), Ronny Flores
(physical trainer), Keblin Ochoa (goalkeeper coach) and Jorge Colmenares
(video analyst), who reviewed the Avila team on their website.
Meléndez led the first team
on an interim basis in the Final Phase B of the FUTVE League in September 2022,
where in the six respective games, he won three and drew two, and thus
qualified for the 2023 CONMEBOL South American Championship.
Meléndez's debut in his second process in the top flight of Caracas FC, now on a permanent basis, will be this Thursday, April 4, for the first day of the CONMEBOL Libertadores 2024 group stage, where he will host Atlético Mineiro from Brazil at the UCV Olympic Stadium at 6 in the afternoon.
